UDC collects information in the course of providing services to its clients from internal and external information systems, as well as from the usage of online applications. UDC complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (EU-U.S. DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Swiss-U.S. DPF) as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union, the UK, and/or Switzerland to the United States. UDC has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles (EU-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from the European Union and the United Kingdom in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF. UDC has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework Principles (Swiss-U.S. DPF Principles) with regard to the processing of personal data received from Switzerland in reliance on the Swiss-U.S. DPF. We do not generally transfer personal information to third parties. As such, liabilty for onward transfers to third parties will generally not apply. For any personal information received under the Data Privacy Framework by UDC and subsequently transferred to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf, UDC shall retain responsibility for the processing of such personal information and remain liable for damages caused by such agent in processing such personal information in a manner inconsistent with the principles of the Data Privacy Framework, unless it is proven that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage. In compliance with the EU-U.S. DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. DPF, UDC commits to cooperate and comply respectively with the advice of the panel established by the EU data protection authorities (DPAs), the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), and the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) with regard to unresolved complaints concerning our handling of human resources data received in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. DPF in the context of the employment relationship.
